Really don't permit the latter take place to you.

By definition, an Website positioning coordinator will supply their clients with numerous Class-C IP addresses, nameservers or many private nameservers linked to dedicated servers. Why is this essential? It enables you additional manipulate to domains noticed as distinct web properties from search engine optimization bots that crawl and index for data. This may help domain rankings when filtered by internet hosts later on down the line. This practice is proved to produce you with all the very best Website placement internet hosting expertise and ultimately, drive visitors into your principal site.

Since Website positioning is certainly one of one of the most crucial factors working campaigns that anticipate big visitors volume, finding the correct host that may handle your requires and help enhance the search results rankings is important.

Here’s a list of what to look for when buying for an Search engine optimization host:

* Location of Server. Opt for a company whose server is in exactly the same country as your special.
* Unique IP handles
* SSL certificates
* Apache 2.0+
* PHP 5 (PHP 4 would not function with most CMS techniques and is prolonged out-of-date)
* FTP / SFTP admittance
* Plesk / Cpanel / Ensim for domain controls
* Statistical software
* MySQL Databases with a separate server
* Accessible consumer service / service ticket system

Managing your website, placing it high in search results results and having it manage to maintain large volumes of visitors is vital for any corporation and deciding on the proper Search engine marketing coordinator to commence with could be the first stage in direction of accomplishing this.

Making use of a suitable Seo coordinator will let backlinks to be constructed that are beneficial to developing your website with no additional function by you. This is usually a sure fire strategy to increase page views, assistance draw much more traffic in and spread your sites across many servers instantly. Concentrate on what drives traffic to your website, content material – and enable your internet sponsor take care of the search engine optimization from a whole various level, painlessly, fast and efficiently.

The advantage to employing a sponsor that's setup for Search engine marketing internet hosting stands out as the C-Class IP web hosting that is ready to go. Google, Yahoo and another major look for engines don’t count inbound links from websites on a similar C-Class, the work-around is not to own dozens of different world-wide-web web hosting organizations, but to work with 1 with numerous C-Class IP web hosting. Making use of fluff material on internet websites or blogs about the outlying IP handles with exclusively targeted key terms will generate the inbound hyperlinks towards parent write-up and will in turn rank higher in seek engines. The ranking boosts mainly because the search engine bots do not know the internet sites are all on exactly the same server because the IP addresses are all diverse.

Search engine marketing web hosting service is one of probably the most successful, however underutilized tactics that puts you in total command of backlinks, keywords and phrases and look for terms that could ultimately push your key site higher up the research benefits while using goal of better conversions in your case. Do this all without having a dollar invested getting ad space or keywords and phrases as well!

Copenhagen was a disaster. That much is agreed. But the truth about what actually happened is in danger of being lost amid the spin and inevitable mutual recriminations. The truth is this: China wrecked the talks, intentionally humiliated Barack Obama, and insisted on an awful “deal” so western leaders would walk away carrying the blame. How do I know this? Because I was in the room and saw it happen.

China's strategy was simple: block the open negotiations for two weeks, and then ensure that the closed-door deal made it look as if the west had failed the world's poor once again. And sure enough, the aid agencies, civil society movements and environmental groups all took the bait. The failure was “the inevitable result of rich countries refusing adequately and fairly to shoulder their overwhelming responsibility”, said Christian Aid. “Rich countries have bullied developing nations,” fumed Friends of the Earth International.

All very predictable, but the complete opposite of the truth. Even George Monbiot, writing in yesterday's Guardian, made the mistake of singly blaming Obama. But I saw Obama fighting desperately to salvage a deal, and the Chinese delegate saying “no”, over and over again. Monbiot even approvingly quoted the Sudanese delegate Lumumba Di-Aping, who denounced the Copenhagen accord as “a suicide pact, an incineration pact, in order to maintain the economic dominance of a few countries”.

Sudan behaves at the talks as a puppet of China; one of a number of countries that relieves the Chinese delegation of having to fight its battles in open sessions. It was a perfect stitch-up. China gutted the deal behind the scenes, and then left its proxies to savage it in public.

Here's what actually went on late last Friday night, as heads of state from two dozen countries met behind closed doors. Obama was at the table for several hours, sitting between Gordon Brown and the Ethiopian prime minister, Meles Zenawi. The Danish prime minister chaired, and on his right sat Ban Ki-moon, secretary-general of the UN. Probably only about 50 or 60 people, including the heads of state, were in the room. I was attached to one of the delegations, whose head of state was also present for most of the time.

What I saw was profoundly shocking. The Chinese premier, Wen Jinbao, did not deign to attend the meetings personally, instead sending a second-tier official in the country's foreign ministry to sit opposite Obama himself. The diplomatic snub was obvious and brutal, as was the practical implication: several times during the session, the world's most powerful heads of state were forced to wait around as the Chinese delegate went off to make telephone calls to his “superiors”.

Shifting the blame

To those who would blame Obama and rich countries in general, know this: it was China's representative who insisted that industrialised country targets, previously agreed as an 80% cut by 2050, be taken out of the deal. “Why can't we even mention our own targets?” demanded a furious Angela Merkel. Australia's prime minister, Kevin Rudd, was annoyed enough to bang his microphone. Brazil's representative too pointed out the illogicality of China's position. Why should rich countries not announce even this unilateral cut? The Chinese delegate said no, and I watched, aghast, as Merkel threw up her hands in despair and conceded the point. Now we know why – because China bet, correctly, that Obama would get the blame for the Copenhagen accord's lack of ambition.

China, backed at times by India, then proceeded to take out all the numbers that mattered. A 2020 peaking year in global emissions, essential to restrain temperatures to 2C, was removed and replaced by woolly language suggesting that emissions should peak “as soon as possible”. The long-term target, of global 50% cuts by 2050, was also excised. No one else, perhaps with the exceptions of India and Saudi Arabia, wanted this to happen. I am certain that had the Chinese not been in the room, we would have left Copenhagen with a deal that had environmentalists popping champagne corks popping in every corner of the world.

Strong position

So how did China manage to pull off this coup? First, it was in an extremely strong negotiating position. China didn't need a deal. As one developing country foreign minister said to me: “The Athenians had nothing to offer to the Spartans.” On the other hand, western leaders in particular – but also presidents Lula of Brazil, Zuma of South Africa, Calderón of Mexico and many others – were desperate for a positive outcome. Obama needed a strong deal perhaps more than anyone. The US had confirmed the offer of $100bn to developing countries for adaptation, put serious cuts on the table for the first time (17% below 2005 levels by 2020), and was obviously prepared to up its offer.

Above all, Obama needed to be able to demonstrate to the Senate that he could deliver China in any global climate regulation framework, so conservative senators could not argue that US carbon cuts would further advantage Chinese industry. With midterm elections looming, Obama and his staff also knew that Copenhagen would be probably their only opportunity to go to climate change talks with a strong mandate. This further strengthened China's negotiating hand, as did the complete lack of civil society political pressure on either China or India. Campaign groups never blame developing countries for failure; this is an iron rule that is never broken. The Indians, in particular, have become past masters at co-opting the language of equity (”equal rights to the atmosphere”) in the service of planetary suicide – and leftish campaigners and commentators are hoist with their own petard.

With the deal gutted, the heads of state session concluded with a final battle as the Chinese delegate insisted on removing the 1.5C target so beloved of the small island states and low-lying nations who have most to lose from rising seas. President Nasheed of the Maldives, supported by Brown, fought valiantly to save this crucial number. “How can you ask my country to go extinct?” demanded Nasheed. The Chinese delegate feigned great offence – and the number stayed, but surrounded by language which makes it all but meaningless. The deed was done.

China's game

All this raises the question: what is China's game? Why did China, in the words of a UK-based analyst who also spent hours in heads of state meetings, “not only reject targets for itself, but also refuse to allow any other country to take on binding targets?” The analyst, who has attended climate conferences for more than 15 years, concludes that China wants to weaken the climate regulation regime now “in order to avoid the risk that it might be called on to be more ambitious in a few years' time”.

This does not mean China is not serious about global warming. It is strong in both the wind and solar industries. But China's growth, and growing global political and economic dominance, is based largely on cheap coal. China knows it is becoming an uncontested superpower; indeed its newfound muscular confidence was on striking display in Copenhagen. Its coal-based economy doubles every decade, and its power increases commensurately. Its leadership will not alter this magic formula unless they absolutely have to.

Copenhagen was much worse than just another bad deal, because it illustrated a profound shift in global geopolitics. This is fast becoming China's century, yet its leadership has displayed that multilateral environmental governance is not only not a priority, but is viewed as a hindrance to the new superpower's freedom of action. I left Copenhagen more despondent than I have felt in a long time. After all the hope and all the hype, the mobilisation of thousands, a wave of optimism crashed against the rock of global power politics, fell back, and drained away.

The US and China have stolen the show in Copenhagen, with a very unhappy ending. This is quite understandable: they produce nearly half of global greenhouse gas emissions. But in the midst of this trans-Pacific rift, the EU perspective has received too little attention, as Europeans have sidelined themselves by being unable to speak loudly in one voice. This is regrettable, for two sets of reasons that point respectively to praise and constructive criticism of the EU climate policy.

The EU, often maligned on the world stage as a power so soft it is hard to feel it, deserves a high mark on the climate front. The road to Copenhagen was indeed largely paved by the EU, acting within the UN in its most important capacity, that of global normative power. Europe was the first region in the world to write down in its laws the basis of the scientific consensus on climate change tenaciously built over the past 20 years by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The EU acknowledged the need to limit the increase in earth's temperature to 2C, which is now a global reference included in the Copenhagen agreement.

Furthermore, without the European commitment taken in 2007 to unilaterally deliver a 20% cut on 1990 emissions by 2020, and possibly 30% if other countries aim for comparable targets, emerging and developing countries would have hardly been seen at all around the Copenhagen table.

Finally, the EU leads the way in terms of economic instruments mobilised for mitigation, whether one considers standards and norms, cap-and-trade or carbon taxes. In this respect, the EU has managed to construct the core element of the potential global co-operative effort to curb emissions that will have to be worked out in 2010: the EU's emission trading system (ETS), ie the European carbon market.

This market now accounts for two-thirds of all carbon traded worldwide, which means that any meaningful agreement between developed and developing countries will have to rely on the EU ETS. This also means that the global price for carbon will be determined in Europe. And this is where praising the EU for its climate commitment should also lead to asking the EU for a better climate policy.

In a study just published, we show that the price signal coming from the EU ETS is actually hard to catch: it is unstable and too low. Since its creation, the cost of a tonne of CO2 in Europe has twice collapsed, first by 65% between April and May 2006, then by 75% between July 2008 and February 2009. Today's price, around €14, has not yet recovered from the effect of the global recession. It also does a poor job as a benchmark for national carbon taxation, as the French example shows. The French government finally opted for a level of €17 per ton of CO2 for its carbon tax, half of the €32 recommended by experts, following the principle that households should not be asked to pay more than firms in the EU ETS.

Yet, the inefficiency of the EU ETS can be easily fixed to make the EU the centre of the decarbonated world. One of the scenarios we propose aims to “taxify” the EU ETS. “Taxify” here means both strengthening the obligations on carbon emissions and making them more predictable, thereby making the EU ETS's effects comparable to a tax. Coupled with a reform of the clean development mechanism, the reform of the EU ETS could prove to be the EU's most important contribution to fighting climate change in the coming decades.

Before it even began, Copenhagen was at once already a success, because no country could pretend to ignore any longer the scientific consensus on climate change, and already a failure, because it was clear that no binding treaty or full protocol would emerge from it. The meagre agreement painfully reached in Copenhagen screams for European leadership: as we enter the nuts and bolts era in climate change policy, we will need fewer and fewer grand declarations and more and more small steps towards efficient economic instruments.

• Éloi Laurent and Jacques Le Cacheux are economists from OFCE (Sciences-po Centre for Economic Research) and the authors of the policy brief An ever less carbonated Union? Towards a better European taxation against climate change

Fuqiang Yang, director of global climate solutions, WWF International

The negotiations in Copenhagen ended without a fair, ambitious or legally binding treaty to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Despite this, what emerged was an agreement that will, at the very least, cut greenhouse gases, set up an emissions verification system, and reduce deforestation. Given the complexity of the issue, this represents a step forward.

I hasten to add that much of the hard work still lies ahead. The Copenhagen accord, the text that came out of the talks, leaves a long list of issues undecided. Among them are the emissions targets industrialised nations will accept, and how much climate finance they will offer.

The accord essentially allows countries to set their own greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals for 2020.

But I am optimistic, because the talks did achieve $100bn in aid from industrialised countries to poorer nations. China, as well, submitted to an emissions verification system under which all nations will report.

The accord also includes measures to help cut greenhouse gases and reduce deforestation, particularly in heavily forested developing nations such as Brazil and Indonesia.

These are big steps forward, and I think it is important to remember that there were achievements made in Copenhagen. There is still a great deal that needs to be done by China and all other signatories. Specific, binding targets are extremely important and need to be worked out. But we did see a move towards an agreement that could keep atmospheric Co2 levels from rising above dangerous levels.

John Prescott, climate change rapporteur for the Council of Europe

I've read a lot about so-called Brokenhagen and the failure to get a legally binding agreement. Frankly we were never going to get one, just as we didn't get one at Kyoto, when I was negotiating for the EU.

What you need is a statement of principle. At Copenhagen this was a final admission that we cannot let temperature rise 2C above pre-industrial levels. And to get approval from 192 countries on this principle is remarkable, considering Kyoto dealt with only 47 nations.

The details and targets to meet that principle will be settled at COP16 in Mexico in 12 months' time. Until then, countries must show, as Ban Ki-Moon said, greater ambition to turn their backs on the path of least resistance.

Many of the countries have set out their own carbon action plans by 2020. So let's see them put those plans into action and put those figures in the annexes to the Copenhagen accord. The rest of the world will follow.

Copenhagen's achievements are an acceptance of the science (contested at Kyoto), an admission there will be global emission cuts, and an acceptance that there will have to be verification.

Martin Rees, president of the Royal Society, master of Trinity College, professor of cosmology and astrophysics, university of Cambridge

Plainly the outcome of Copenhagen was less than many hoped – but perhaps not substantially less than could be realistically expected. The involvement of India and China was clearly going to be crucial. But the grandstanding by particular nations (and the insistence by some on an unreasonable target of 1.5 degrees) was plainly unhelpful to the negotiations.

We in the UK should surely acclaim the constructive and committed role played by our government, and by Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband in particular, both in the lead-up to Copenhagen and during the frustrating and exhasting negotiations last week.

Next year, one hopes the US internal debate will evolve further, so Obama feels able to play a less muted role. Let's hope also that negotiations within groups of nations are carried forward. There is more hope of something being agreed among a group of up to 20 key nations (provided the group covers developing and developed countries), which others then sign up to.

And to be positive, the Copenhagen meeting, circus though it was, carried the process forward. For instance, it stimulated pledges of funding from developed nations (albeit, not as firmly as might have been hoped) and made progress on forestry. And it maintained global long-term concerns about climate change on the international agenda.

Bryony Worthington, climate campaigner with sandbag.org, who helped draft the UK climate change bill

Copenhagen was a spectacular failure on many levels. The UN process was stretched to breaking-point, with no consensus on any pressing issues.

The accord that was signed was clearly designed to meet the needs of the US, who always wanted a voluntary “pledge and review later” type agreement with minimum enforcement.

The sums of money agreed to help developing nations adapt to climate change are so low as to be insulting.

The future of the major mechanism driving private capital into solutions, the carbon market, has been left with a question mark over its future, and the long-anticipated agreement on stopping deforestation lacked clarity.

What happens next? The most honest answer would be to accept that under the current arrangements consensus will not be reached.

We have to focus on domestic action in big fossil-fuelled economies: the US, China, and Europe. All three have made pledges about their intentions to act – each has the opportunity to introduce policies which will create huge markets in climate solutions. If they lead, these solutions will become available for use in all parts of the world, with the costs of development having been born by those most able to pay.

That is our best hope.

Gavin Schmidt, climate scientist at Nasa and co-founder of RealClimate.org

Look at the history of environment negotiations – take the ozone ones as the best example. People start off negotiating very hard and the first agreement does nothing but moderate the problem.

While the Montreal protocol was ultimately a huge triumph, it made an infinitesimally small difference at first. It took them four amendments to get from reduction to a ban [on CFCs], a process of 20 years after science identified the problem.

Carbon and climate change are much more complicated, and we're just getting to that 20-year mark now. Anyone expecting a definitive solution to the problem on timescales any shorter than that is extremely optimistic.

It's not an event, it's a process. I guarantee that the decisions we will be making in 2050 will not be the ones made in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen did show some improvement in the process. People are now talking about changes in greenhouse gas emissions that are commensurate with the size of the problem. Before, they weren't.

People are now seeing the problem for the challenge that it really is. But, in seeing that challenge, it makes the process – because that challenge is very large.

Kumi Naidoo, executive director, Greenpeace International

The outcome of the summit was not fair, ambitious or legally binding. This eluded world leaders because they put national economic self-interests, as well as those of climate polluting industries, before protecting the climate.

Even if all countries reach their pledges, our planet will be propelled towards a 4C temperature rise, double what leaders say they must achieve. This will have devastating climate impacts, including crop failures and the disappearance of the Amazon rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.

With each month of delay in getting a real climate deal, the chances of the world staying below a 2C rise slips further away, and the cost to this and the next generation in tackling climate change increases.

To avoid this, industrialised countries as a group – which bear historic responsibility for the problem – must make the largest emission cuts. They also need to provide at least $140bn a year to help developing countries.

The non-result from Copenhagen calls into question the ability of leaders to deliver what is needed. Citizens around the world will need to elect more ambitious leaders and embrace new, low impact technologies.

Vicky Pope, head of climate change advice at the Met Office

At previous meetings in the runup to Copenhagen, in Barcelona and elsewhere, there was talk about greenhouse gas targets for 2020 and 2050; it is disappointing that those have been lost, but it is good that everyone accepted the scientific reality that climate change is a problem and that we need to limit warming to 2C.

The accord is fairly weak, and we will only know how effective it will be when countries fill in the table that details their targets to reduce emissions (they have until the end of January to do so).

Only when we have those targets and we can add them up to see the scale of cuts will we be able to properly judge what has been achieved. It is a positive thing that finance is included, as that could help to make things happen.

Going forward, the first thing that needs to happen is that the table of targets needs to be filled in. Then the whole agreement needs to be made legally binding.

Nicholas Stern, chair, Grantham research institute on climate change and the environment, London School of Economics and Political Science

The Copenhagen meeting was a disappointment, primarily because it failed to set the basic targets for reducing global annual emissions of greenhouse gases from now up to 2050, and did not secure commitments from countries to meet these targets collectively.

Nevertheless, the road to Copenhagen and the summit itself generated commitments on emissions reductions from many countries, including, for the first time, from the world's two largest emitters, China and the US. The Copenhagen accord also did recognise that a rise in global average temperature should be limited to below 2C.

In addition, the prime minister of Ethiopia, Meles Zenawi, speaking for the African Union, put forward a very important proposal on financial support, much of which is reflected in the Copenhagen accord, including the creation of the Copenhagen green climate fund to administer funding for developing countries.

The current UN framework convention on climate change process has been found wanting over the past few weeks.

One potential way forward is for Mexico, as hosts of COP16 (the next full summit) in 2010, to convene a group of 20 representative nations, as Friends of the Chair, to work on a potential treaty and tackle the outstanding issues and building consensus around strong action. The group should start its work immediately.

Dr Myles Allen, head of climate dynamics group in the atmospheric, oceanic and planetary physics department, University of Oxford

On one level, it could be argued it is quite a good outcome.

There is a goal to limit global temperature rise to 2C and an acknowledgement that current commitments are not enough to meet that goal. It is good that China recognises the 2C goal and that emissions reductions are the way to go.

I am glad they did not make serious progress towards a legally binding treaty, because the current thinking that nationally negotiated emissions targets and a system of carbon trading will solve this problem is flawed. I'm very sceptical about that whole approach.

A legally binding regime based on that principle would lock us into that process, and it could take 20 or 30 years before it became sufficiently obvious it was not working. Once set up, there is enormous investment in a system like that and it becomes difficult to change. So something close to success in Copenhagen based on what the politicians were aiming for could have been counterproductive.

It's depressing that governments appear to have walked away from Copenhagen only to say they are going to spend the next year fighting for the legally binding treaty they wanted it to produce, rather than use the time to consider some radical alternatives.

One way we have suggested is to target producers rather than emitters. A mandatory requirement on fossil fuel companies to capture and store carbon emissions, to clean up after themselves, could solve a big part of the problem without complex international negotiations.

Bernarditas de Castro Muller, former lead negotiator for the G77 plus China group of developing countries

What was achieved in Copenhagen? The Copenhagen accord contains what was possibly the most that the leaders of the world's biggest countries could give in terms of actions to address climate change.

However, there are problems with the document as it stands. The main one is the process pursued to reach this agreement, which completely undermined the cardinal rule of multilateralism in international negotiations, and that is transparency and inclusiveness.

The final session and the mishandling of the process by the Danish presidency delivered the knockout blow to any meaningful agreement. That this travesty should take place before the eyes of the main guardian of multilateralism, the UN secretary-general, only added to the irony of the tragic situation.

But the worth of the “deal” (I actually prefer the word “accord”; “deal” sounds like some sleazy business plot) lies in laying out clearly what each of the major countries could live with in terms of addressing climate change. In my opinion, it is still inadequate insofar as developed countries' commitments to reduce emissions are concerned. However, we are always told to take into account the “political realities” of rich countries. I revolt against this, but have to live with it, and put aside our own political realities in the developing world, which have to do with basic necessities and even survival itself.

Where do we go from here? We could take the accord as some kind of political guidance from the leaders of major countries. We are now clear on where the major groups stand. It is now up to negotiators to come up with universally agreed next steps.

Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

I think there are three major achievements that could be listed at Copenhagen:
• The acceptance of a 2C limit for temperature increase, and reference to the scientific basis for doing so. This indicates that science has finally had an influence on negotiators defining what would represent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.
• An agreement was reached between the so-called Basic countries [Brazil, South Africa, China and India] and the US on a tricky issue, which had become a bone of contention particularly between the US and China.
• A sum of $30bn has been included in the agreement for funding developing countries' actions during the period 2010 to 12.

Is the agreement worth anything? The accord would be worth something only if we build on it with a sense of urgency and take it forward towards a binding agreement by the end of next year.

The next step is that the negotiators, and particularly the leaders of major countries, must now get into action to see that we come up with an inclusive agreement involving all the countries of the world. This would require early convening of some meetings under the Conference of the Parties, and a timetable for specific outcomes to be achieved before Mexico.

You don't have to run your search engine too long to discover it's the blogs where you'll find the most interesting information about what emerged from the Copenhagen climate talks. But that's not where we're going tonight. Instead, what follows are links to the headlines and first three paragraphs of numerous English-language newspaper Web sites, and a couple of news services. Some of those excerpts about the five-nation Copenhagen Accord are long, some are short. A handful of headlines and links to foreign-language papers is also included.

The overall message is not as soothing as the press releases.

Add your own newspapers if you like. If you speak languages other than English, a translation will be appreciated by other Kossacks.

From the Guardian:

Low targets, goals dropped: Copenhagen ends in failure:

The UN climate summit reached a weak outline of a global agreement last night in Copenhagen, falling far short of what Britain and many poor countries were seeking and leaving months of tough negotiations to come.

After eight draft texts and all-day talks between 115 world leaders, it was left to Barack Obama and Wen Jiabao, the Chinese premier, to broker a political agreement. The so-called Copenhagen accord “recognises” the scientific case for keeping temperature rises to no more than 2C but did not contain commitments to emissions reductions to achieve that goal.

American officials spun the deal as a “meaningful agreement”, but even Obama said: “This progress is not enough.”

From The Australian:

Copenhagen Accord rescued from 'abyss', says Australia's Prime Minister:

PRIME MINISTER Kevin Rudd said world leaders had brought global climate negotiations back from the “abyss” after 17 hours of continual discussions that ended at 1am in the Danish capital city today.

But Australia’s Prime Minister conceded that the final Copenhagen Accord left “much more to be done”.

As it stands, the accord simply describes Australia’s current emission reduction target range of 5 per cent to 25 per cent in the political agreement. Mr Rudd said Australia would announce its final target once all nations had submitted their targets by February 1.

Environmental campaigners branded the Copenhagen climate summit an abject failure, saying it made progress on financing the battle against climate change but little else.

President Barack Obama announced the deal at the end of the 12-day, UN-led meeting in the Danish capital, calling an agreement among key leaders “unprecedented” but conceding that it was not enough. His announcement was made late on Friday Copenhagen time.

President Obama said Friday night that an international deal to combat climate change had been reached, but “it is going to be very hard, and it's going to take some time” to get to a legally binding treaty.

“Today, we've made a meaningful and unprecedented breakthrough here in Copenhagen,” Obama said.

Tentative deal reached in Copenhagen on climate change curbs:

Key international leaders have reached a tentative deal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and curb climate change, after the United States and China agreed to a method for recording developing nations' pledges to limit emissions and ensuring those pledges are carried out.

Details of the agreement were approved in an evening meeting with President Obama, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, sources said.

Obama has scheduled a press conference in the host Bella Center to unveil the agreement.
5 Nations Forge a Climate Deal, but Many Goals Remain Unmet:

President Obama announced here on Friday night that five major nations, including the United States, had together forged a climate deal. He called it “an unprecedented breakthrough” but acknowledged that it still fell short of what was required to combat global warming.

President Obama made statements following a meeting with Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao, the prime minister of India, Manmohan Singh, and other world leaders at the climate summit.

The agreement addresses many of the issues that leaders came here to settle. But it has left many of the participants in the climate talks unhappy, from the Europeans, who now have the only binding carbon control regime in the world, to the delegates from the poorest nations, who objected to being left out of the critical negotiations.

US President Barack Obama has announced a climate deal with other major world leaders calling it “unprecedented'' but still not enough to beat global warming.

More than four hours after the scheduled close of the summit and an exhaustive round of diplomacy between the world's most powerful leaders, Obama said an agreement had been reached but acknowledged it was limited and would not be legally binding.

The pact includes an agreement to put off until next month a decision on targets for reducing carbon emissions by 2020, a European diplomat said.
Copenhagen climate summit: 'meaningful agreement' hailed by leaders:

US President Barack Obama reached a “meaningful” agreement with the leaders of China, India and South Africa at the Copenhagen climate conference.

The shift was described as an “historic step forward” but US officials made clear that it was not enough to stop the world warming up.

As details began to emerge, officials stressed that no country was “entirely satisfied” with what had been agreed.

From The Independent:

Obama's climate accord fails the test:

World leaders late last night agreed a hugely watered-down version of a new global pact on climate change, after an astonishing day of deadlock, disagreement, misunderstandings, walkouts and insults at the UN climate conference in Copenhagen.

The agreement, patched together after massive and rancorous divisions between the rich nations and the developing countries, especially America and China, was described as a “meaningful and unprecedented breakthrough” by the US President Barack Obama. However, a senior American official openly admitted it was not enough to combat the threat of a warming planet, saying merely: “It is a first step.”

Known as the Copenhagen Accord, the new agreement falls massively short of the ambitions many people had centred on the two-week meeting in the Danish capital, in the hope of a major new effort to combat the global warming threat. Although in principle it commits – for the first time – all the countries of the world, including the developing countries, to cut their emissions of the greenhouse gases which are causing climate change, the accord is not legally binding, merely a political statement.

From the (London) Times:

Copenhagen deadlock wrapped up as emissions deal:

The United Nations climate change summit ended last night without setting any emission reduction targets.

President Obama forged a non-binding agreement with his counterparts in China, India, Brazil and South Africa but it was unclear whether all 192 countries would accept the compromise text.

Mr Obama said that a “fundamental deadlock in perspectives” had overshadowed the negotiations. He described the deal as “meaningful” but admitted that it would not be enough to prevent global warming. “We have much further to go,” he said.

From the Straits Times:

Deal reached: Obama

FOLLOWING are the main points in the draft deal agreed among leaders of more than two dozen countries at the UN climate talks in Copenhagen.

The text, called the Copenhagen Accord, is aimed at being a springboard to a worldwide pact on tackling climate change.

The draft - which delegates said would be put to a plenary session, presaging a rocky ride from nations deemed to have been excluded from the process - spelt out these provisions:

GLOBAL WARMING 'should be (kept) below 2 deg C', says the draft.

From the Toronto Star:

Copenhagen deal not binding:

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other world leaders are leaving the Copenhagen climate talks with an outcome that is weaker than hoped for – and possibly in disarray – and a vow to work out the details later.

Harper said Friday that Canada, the United States, China and several other countries reached a “comprehensive and realistic” agreement, while U.S. President Barack Obama hailed it as a “meaningful and unprecedented breakthrough.”

But other leaders questioned Obama's interpretation of the outcome, and it wasn't immediately clear in the early hours of Saturday morning if a deal had actually been reached after 12 days of tempestuous talks in the Danish capital.

From the Vancouver Sun:

Obama reaches climate deal with China, India, S.Africa:

An international deal on global warming was reached late Friday, a last-minute breakthrough that was described as only a first step and insufficient to fight climate change.

“We have much farther to go,” U.S. President Barack Obama said, adding that more trust would have to be built between rich and poor nations to reach a legally binding pact.

The talks went into overtime Friday, bolstered by hopeful discussions between the U.S. and China, but muddled by numerous confusing drafts of a new United Nations agreement swirling through the conference centre.

From The Montreal Gazette:

Limited, last-minute climate deal struck in Copenhagen:

World leaders attempted to pull all the meaning they could from the tenuous deal brokered between the U.S., China and other major economies during the final hours of climate change negotiations Friday night and Saturday morning — but the newly christened “Copenhagen Accord” elicited mainly resignation or disappointment.

The agreement is missing some of the hard targets contained in earlier drafts of the accord, but sets out an ambitious plan for providing $100 billion in climate aid to developing countries by 2020. U.S. President Barack Obama, who held a key bilateral meeting with China Friday afternoon to help usher through the deal, acknowledged “no country will get everything that it wants.”

Although many exhausted politicians from industrialized countries said they planned to sign the agreement, there are still months — perhaps years — of negotiations ahead before the pact has any real impact.

From The Wall Street Journal:
Climate Pact Falls Short:

Leaders of the U.S., China and several other major economies said late Friday they had tentatively reached a new climate accord, though they said the pact wasn't aggressive enough to meaningfully curb greenhouse-gas emissions and merely set up a future round of negotiations to hash out the details.

The announcement followed a hectic day of diplomacy that included an approximately four-hour meeting that featured clashes between U.S. and Chinese officials. But the so-called “Copenhagen Accord” leaves key questions unanswered, and will likely have little immediate impact on companies in the U.S. and elsewhere that had hoped for more certainty about the future direction of regulation to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

The agreement was still subject late Friday to final ratification by nations at the conference.

From the Associated Press (via the Houston Chronicle):

Poor nations not happy with climate deal:

Two years of laborious negotiations on a climate agreement ended Friday with a political deal brokered by President Barack Obama with China and other emerging powers but denounced by poor countries because it was nonbinding and set no overall target for curbing greenhouse gas emissions.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a leading proponent of strong action to confront global warming, gave the Copenhagen Accord grudging acceptance but said she had “mixed feelings” about the outcome and called it only a first step.

Obama's day of frenetic diplomacy produced a three-page document promising $30 billion in emergency aid in the next three years and a goal of channeling $100 billion a year by 2020 to developing countries with no guarantees.

From the Cape News:

Obama: Imperfect deal is better than nothing:

US President Barack Obama on Friday told the world to stop bickering and embrace even an imperfect new climate deal, or risk a disastrous split that would let global warming advance unchallenged.

“I have to be honest, as the world watches us today, I think ability to take collective action is in doubt right now and it hangs in the balance,” Obama told leaders in the cliffhanger final hours of the UN climate conference.

“At this point the question is whether we will move forward together or split apart, whether we prefer posturing to action.”

From the Christian Science Monitor:

Copenhagen summit: Major powers broker compromise:

The United States and four other countries agreed to a new, voluntary climate pact today. The move, which could become the framework for a broader agreement here, drew responses ranging from cautious acceptance to outrage. But it could prove a historic development in big-power negotiations, say some analysts.

The announcement came at the end of nearly 24 hours of intense talks among nearly two dozen world leaders and their negotiators. In announcing the agreement to reporters from the United States, President Obama acknowledged that it falls short of what the science demands in order to hold global warming to roughly 2 degrees Celsius over preindustrial levels.

But, he added, “it's a first step,” one designed to overcome what he called a “deadlock in perspectives” between developed and developing countries and build the kind of confidence between the two camps that will eventually allow for a legally binding treaty.

Big emitters are backing a deal for rich countries to slash emissions by 80 per cent by 2050 under a “Copenhagen accord” that is being hammered out in the dying minutes of climate talks.

The deal falls far short of what was hoped for from Copenhagen and leaves much to be agreed at a follow-up meeting in Mexico to be held sometime next year.

Frustrated leaders turned up to the final day of talks to find no agreed text on the table and spent the last 12 hours trying to reach an agreement.

Subject: Operation Chokehold
On Friday, December 18, at noon Pacific time, we will attempt to overwhelm the AT&T data network and bring it to its knees. The goal is to have every iPhone user (or as many as we can) turn on a data intensive app and run that app for one solid hour. Send the message to AT&T that we are sick of their substandard network and sick of their abusive comments. The idea is we'll create a digital flash mob. We're calling it in Operation Chokehold. Join us and speak truth to power!

You could join this flashmob to bring AT&T “to its knees,” but from what I can tell, it's already there. [Fake Steve]

Time! In the search for life in the universe, time and the sheer scale of the cosmos are enemies of our all too brief human-life span. A few basic facts provide a startling and eye-opening perspective on both our mortality and the obstacles confronting our search for life beyond the Solar System.

A prime target for our early efforts to find a twin Earth is our nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, 4.4 million light years away, which means that light (or an extraterrestrial message) takes 4.4 years to reach us.

It’s been the destination of interstellar travelers in science fiction writing for so long now that one would almost be forgiven for thinking we’d already colonized it. But Alpha Centauri, the three-star system closest to our own Sun, is now the center of some very exciting science.

Javiera Guedes who headed up a NASA-funded project to analyze the possibility of detecting an Earthlike planet in orbit around Alpha Centauri B, has shown that terrestrial planets are likely to have formed around Alpha Centauri B, and that these planets should be orbiting in the “habitable zone.”

“It's so close to us, and the position of the other stars is such that it should be very possible to find a small planet,” she explained. She also found that, based on astronomers' current understanding of how solar systems form, the existence of a planet the size of our own is very likely, and that there's also a chance that it would lie in the habitable zone.

Now, the planet-hunting team is using a telescope in Chile to keep an eye on the star for the next three years, in order to collect enough data to determine whether or not the next Earthlike planet lies next door.

“If they exist, we can observe them,” said Guedes also showed that such planets would be observable if a telescope was dedicated to their search.

Guedes used a series of planet formation computer simulations to determine that terrestrial planets have probably formed around the star. The team ran repeated computer simulations which ran on a time frame of 200 million years each time. They varied the beginning conditions each time, and thus created a different result each time. However, each time a system of multiple planets evolved with at least one planet – approximately the size of Earth – forming. In many of these simulations, this planet was often found to be orbiting within the habitable zone of the star.

Its brightness and its position in the sky are both positive factors that make the Alpha Centauri search plausible; the latter giving the team a long period of observability each year from the Southern Hemisphere.

But the profound implication of the iron-clad law of astronomical time is that we see Alpha Centauri only as it was 4.4 years ago.In other words any message from inhabitants of Alpa Cenauri saying “Our planet is dying!” and our reply would consume a total of almost nine years.

The effect becomes even more starkly dramatic at greater distances. If we look at the awesome beauty of the Orion Nebula, we see it as the inhabitants of the Roman Empire saw it 1500 light years ago. A radio message we sent to a planet in the region would take some 3000 years for us to get their reply.

An even more extreme example would a message sent to us from the extreme outer edge of the Milky Way, which is 100,000 light years in diameter. Earth is located about 28,000 light years from the galactic center. A message reaching us now would have been sent 70,000 years ago.

To put astronomical time in an even more awesome perspective, scientists have located a giant 13-billion year old galaxy at the edge of the observable universe. The galaxy, which is 12.8 billion light-years from Earth, is as large as the Milky Way galaxy and harbors a supermassive black hole that contains at least a billion times as much matter as does our Sun. A message received from a planet that existed in this ancient would have to have been sent some eight billion years before the Earth was formed when the universe was only one-sixteenth of its present age. And, would that planet, indeed, that galaxy, still exist?

microlimitedms@gmail.com

Ah, Jupiter. My favourite planet in the whole Solar system and the planet I researched in Grade 2 . Jupiter is a very appropriate name. Why not name the king of the planets with the same time the king of the Gods had.

Jupiter, with a diameter of 142, 984km, is as massive as all the other planets combined and times by two. Jupiter is also 778 330 000km from the sun, about 5 times the distance that earth is from the sun.

Jupiter is the first of the Jovian planets, the Gassy planets that have no solid surface, but just keeps on getting denser and denser the further inside you go until you hit the core.

Jupiter was first visited by Pioneer 10 in 1973 and later by Pioneer 11, Voyager 1, Voyager 2 and Ulysses. The spacecraft Galileo orbited Jupiter for eight years. It is still regularly observed by the Hubble Space Telescope.

Not much is known is about the interior of Jupiter, and the other Gassy Planets. Galileo’s observations could only penetrate about 150km of Jupiter’s atmosphere.

What we have gathered but, is that Jupiter’s atmospheric composition is 90% hydrogen and 10% helium, with traces of methane, water, ammonia and “rock”.

What was that? Water? Even though there may be water, there is not enough to sustain life. But hey, for all we know there could be a super intelligent race down there, and a ecosystem that thrives of elements like sulphur and have huge wings to ride the planets constant storms.

Jupiter also sports a huge great red spot that is thought to be a huge storm that has been raging for over 400 years and consists of winds more than 650km/h. The red spot is twice the size of earth.

Jupiter has been called a failed star. When it was young, if it could only gather about 80 times more matter, the planet would have had enough energy to start nuclear fission and your solar system would have been a binary star solar system.

Jupiter also has rings, just like Saturn, but there are too faint to see from earth. In total, so far we have counted 63 moons; 4 big ones and heaps of smaller ones.

Some things about Jupiter that continue to puzzle scientists include questions like: why does Jupiter have so little water? Was it that the spacecraft Galileo measured the atmospheric composition at an unusually dry area?

What kind of mechanism drives the zonal winds of Jupiter?

Why are Jupiter’s rings so dark and feint when Saturn’s rings and bright?

Knowledge about Jupiter’s interior continues to dazzle us, and it may be many more years to come before we know any more than we do at present day.

University of Georgia professors in two schools have received a $447,000 grant from NASA that will offer undergraduate students a year-long combination of classroom and field classes studying the effects of climate change on birds.

NASA’s three-year global climate change education teaching and research grant funds instruction activities that are scheduled to begin with fall 2010 classes. The grant will fund fall, spring and summer courses that will teach students about global climate change models, research methods and designing field experiments. The final course in the lecture and lab series—to be held during summer classes—will have students perform their experiments in the field. That field experience will make students more competitive for graduate schools and jobs, said Jeffrey Hepinstall-Cymerman, an assistant professor of landscape ecology in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Hepinstall-Cymerman said the students will use NASA data, models, spatial analysis, statistics and field methods while studying the effects of climate change on birds and bird migration.

“This training offers a unique opportunity for students to obtain an understanding of the complexities and challenges involved in predicting floral and faunal responses to a changing climate, in addition to exposing them to important field and analytical methods at the cutting edge of applied ecology,” he said.

Hepinstall-Cymerman and two other professors in the Warnell School, Robert Cooper and Michael Conroy, are lead investigators on the grant, which also includes Marshall Shepherd, a professor in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. As part of the grant, the team will install ground sensors at Whitehall Forest, a research forest located off campus and managed by Warnell, and at the Coweeta Long Term Ecological Research station to allow students to compare ground measurements with measurements made with NASA satellites. This will allow students to see how the satellite images covering large areas compare to detailed information gathered on the ground, Conroy explained. “This is an excellent example of how you use that technology to teach,” he said.

The effect of climate change on birds is sometimes overlooked when the controversial subject is debated, but Conroy notes that if springs continue to get warmer, then it affects when the primary food source for birds—insects—emerge. If birds don’t adjust to that change, he said, newly-hatched birds won’t have enough food.

Global climate models are key tools for studying aspects of climate change. Shepherd, through funding from a Northeast Georgia PRISM (Partnership for Reform in Science and Mathematics) grant, implemented a fully functional educational global climate model called EdGCM into weather-climate exercises in the department of geography. “I was familiar with the NASA-funded EdGCM model from my previous tenure at NASA and felt that it was the ideal platform for integrating climate modeling in an accessible manner for today’s ‘digital native’ students,” said Shepherd. He will assist with implementation of EdGCM into the project’s instructional activities and provide climate science expertise.

Although the NASA grant primarily funds instruction activities, the summer undergraduate research will offer undergraduate students the type of field research experience generally found only at the graduate level and will tie in with work Cooper is doing on breeding bird productivity along an elevational gradient at Coweeta. “The mountainside is a surrogate for climate change,” said Cooper, “and leafout and insect emergence will be later at higher elevations. Migrating birds that arrive in the spring to breed may be right on time to hit peak insect numbers at higher elevations, but not at lower sites, a phenomenon that is likely to be even more extreme with increasing global temperatures.”

NASA is getting WISE to the Universe this Friday. That is, they're launching the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, a new infrared space telescope that will survey objects in our Solar System and beyond, looking for asteroids and brown dwarfs close to home, and protoplanetary disks and newborn stars far off.

The WISE mission is another in a series of all-sky surveys that have become so very effective for research. The satellite will spend six months mapping the entire sky in the infrared, after which it will make a second, three-month pass to further refine the mapping. Rather than looking at any specific objects, the satellite will survey everything it can see with its infrared eyes, providing a detailed catalog of infrared-emitting objects for followup with telescopes like the Spitzer Space Telescope, the Herschel Space Observatory and the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope.

Infrared instruments detect heat, so the instrument must be cooled to a chilly 17 Kelvin (-265 degrees Celsius/ -445 degrees Fahrenheit). Otherwise, it would detect its own heat signature. This is accomplished by packing it in a cryostat, which is basically a large thermos filled with solid hydrogen. The cryostat is expected to keep the instrument cool enough for about 10 months of observation after the launch.

WISE is all ready to go, with the chilled instrument stowed safely in the nosecone that will fit atop a Delta II rocket. WISE will launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Friday, Dec. 11, between 9:09 a.m. and 9:23 a.m. EST. NASA will have live coverage of the launch available on NASA TV.

Objects that the WISE telescope will pick up include asteroids in our own Solar System that remain undetected because they are invisible in visible light. By doing an all-sky survey, WISE is expected to see hundreds of thousands of asteroids in our Solar System that haven't been discovered, hundreds of them lying in the path of the Earth's orbit. By cataloging these Earth orbit-crossing objects, astronomers can get a better idea of what threats from asteroid impact are lurking in the dark.

WISE will also be sensitive enough to pick up brown dwarfs, objects that straddle the line between planet and star. Though they are massive, they don't quite make the cut for igniting nuclear fusion in their cores, but are warm enough to emit infrared light. It's thought that there are quite a few of these objects in our own back yard waiting to be discovered, and WISE may double or triple the amount of star-like objects that are within 25 light-years of the Earth.

In addition to these smaller, closer finds, WISE will be able to see ultra-luminous infrared galaxies out in the distant regions of the Universe. These galaxies are bright in the infrared, but are invisible to telescopes that can only see in the visible light spectrum. The catalog may be a boon to extrasolar planet hunters, as the protoplanetary disks from which these planets form will be another object visible to the instrument.

The WISE telescope will have polar orbit with an altitude of 525 km (326 miles), and will circle the Earth 15 times each day. Snapshots of the sky will be taken every eleven seconds, allowing the instrument to image each position on the sky in the telescope's field of view a minimum of eight times.

Be sure to check back with us for further coverage of the WISE launch on Friday!

Washington, Dec 8 (DPA) NASA’s newest “eye” to be launched Wednesday is a satellite equipped with unprecedented infrared sensitivity to scope out cosmic objects unseen by other cameras.

The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, is to be launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

Over the next nine months in orbit around the north and south poles, the satellite is to scan the entire sky one and a half times seeking out the “coolest stars, dark asteroids and the most luminous galaxies,” NASA said.

What sets this “eye” apart from other space cameras such as the Hubble telescope and deep-space probes is its ability to read four infrared wavelengths “with sensitivity hundreds to hundreds of thousands of times greater than its predecessors,” NASA’s Pasadena- based Jet Propulsion Laboratory said.

The resulting pictures will serve as navigation charts for the big space cameras like the Hubble, NASA’s Spitzer space telescope, the European Space Agency’s Herschel Space Observatory and NASA’s upcoming Sofia and James Webb Space Telescope.

“With infrared, we can find the dark asteroids other surveys have missed and learn about the whole population. Are they mostly big, small, fluffy or hard?” asked Peter Eisenhardt, the WISE project scientist at the Jet Propulsion Lab.

To keep WISE sensitive to infrared light, it cannot give out any infrared rays of its own, so its detectors are to be chilled to ultra-cold temperatures – below 8 degrees Kelvin, or minus 445 degrees Fahrenheit.

“Wise is chilled out,” project manager William Irace said.

Suryia, the orangutan, was the first animal to spot the dog and went over to make friends with him. They immediately started playing with each other, which was odd to the staff, because they have seen that dogs are generally afraid of the primate species. They tried to see if Roscoe belonged to anyone in the area, but they were not successful, so they kept him. Suryia and Roscoe spend a few hours a day together and like to swim and Suryia will take the dog for a walk.

In case you
missed it the other day, on his Fox News program Glenn Beck linked
health care reform to 9-11, likening legislation designed to better
the lives of Americans to a fuel-laden passenger jet striking the World Trade
Center, and casting himself, as the leader of his 9-12 cult, as the only person
standing in the way of disaster.

It's the
type of deluded and offensive narcissism that we've come to expect from Beck,
and normally I wouldn't have given it a whole lot of thought afterwards, but
something else caught my ear in the middle of Beck's rant as he tried to cast
himself as some sort of latter-day Cassandra whose prophetic warnings about bin
Laden fell on deaf ears: “In the 1990s, I was on the radio warning people
about Osama bin Laden, not because I was some super-smart genius. I just
listened to the man's words. I really believed him. But that wasn't the top of
the priority list in America
– no, no, no. We were dealing with the fat interns and the definition of is,
and I like the rest of America
went back to sleep on the terrorist threat.”

It just so
happens that Glenn Beck has on his website a section called “Classic
Beck,” which contains selected audio recordings of Beck's radio
programs going back several years. One of those recordings is from August 22,
1998, and is described as follows: “Glenn debuts on the WABC in New York City. Glenn
discusses the recent U.S.
attacks on Afghanistan and Sudan
and if the American people are ready for the upcoming War on Terrorism.” And it
just so happens that near the beginning of this recording, Beck comments on
Osama bin Laden:

BECK: Now, another newspaper in Pakistan says that it received a
statement for the–from the spokesperson for Azma bin Ladin . Is that is
name? Bin Ladin? Bin Ladeen? Bin jelly bean, green bean, Mr. Clean? I love him.
He's hot. He says he's ready for war with the U.S. Oh yes? Thank you Mr. Baked
Bean.

A respected newspaper quotes the statement as follows: “The war has just
started, and Americans should wait for the answer.” Now, Mr. Ozma Dig-my-scene,
I don't even know what the question was! Was the question “is my turban on too
tight?” Yes! I think it is. The blood's not pumping around the whole brain.
Loosen the turban, Mr. Clean, dig my scene. Oh yes, let's look at the latrine.

Does this
sound like Beck was “warning” about bin Laden and taking his words seriously?
Now, consider the time period - it's late August 1998, just a few weeks after
the Al Qaeda bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and President
Clinton just launched
cruise missiles into Afghanistan and Sudan in retaliation. If there was
ever a time in the '90s when terrorism was the focus of America's attention, this was it.
And Glenn Beck, debuting on WABC, used that time to make silly jokes about bin
Laden's name and dismiss his threats as a symptom of an overly tight
turban.

But the
Glenn Beck of August 1998 doesn't jibe with the Glenn Beck of 2009, who
desperately wants to be taken seriously as the last remaining bulwark against
the rising tide of socialism or fascism or statism or whatever. So Beck simply
rewrote his own history. Ironically, it was the actual historical records that
Beck maintains on his own website that undermined his attempt at revisionism.

On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart laid out his take on the terrifying Glenn Beck Appendectomy Conspiracy, RAISING THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS over how maybe it was all “a plot by Hitler to steal Glenn Beck from all of us internal organ by internal organ by internal organ and then reprogram him to use as a weapon.” But maybe Stewart was only scratching the surface of this conspiracy! Let's all RAISE SOME QUESTIONS over whether or not actual Marxists were, in fact, rooting around inside Glenn Beck's body and mind.

Yesterday morning, Glenn Beck communicated with the world, in his patented Pidgin Twitter, saying:

Nvr a gdnight sleep in the hospital but always easier w/family, prayers and AMAZING drs/nurses. They didn't even cut off my feet!!

Amazing nurses, eh? Amazingly anti-American, maybe! Alexander Zaitchik is RAISING SUSPICIONS:

The quality of care he is receiving should not have come as a surprise. When Beck complained of acute abdominal pain during his radio program on Wednesday, he was rushed to a nearby hospital. The security-conscious Beck has not disclosed the name of the facility, but it's a safe bet that it is staffed by proud members of a storied union: New York's Local 1199, aka United Healthcare Workers East, which belongs to the Service Employees International Union. The SEIU has organized all of Manhattan's major hospitals, including every facility to which Beck could have conceivably been sent.

It probably has not occurred to Beck to link his kind, efficient nurses to something as dastardly as the SEIU. As recently as Wednesday, he was busy smearing the union with his usual verbal feces. For the past several months, on radio and television, Beck has cast the SEIU, the country's largest union, as a Toxic Avenger-looking bogeyman in his conspiratorial fantasyland. In the progressive plot of Beck's imagination, the “radical, Marxist” SEIU is conspiring with ACORN “thugs” to destroy the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and turn this country into North Korea–or worse.

Now, I don't know if the “amazing nurses” that tended to Glenn Beck were SEIU members or not. But the following infotaining factoid simply can not be ignored! No one has been inside the Obama White House more than SEIU prexy Andy Stern. Now, Andy Stern has, through Marxist nurse proxies, gained access inside Glenn Beck's body! WHAT DOES ACORN WANT WITH GLENN BECK'S PRECIOUS BODILY FLUIDS?

Later that same morning, Beck tweeted: “I just realized my tonsils are missing. Man, I wish I were as rich as M. Moore i could've had some of that sweet Castro Care he loves.” But, Glenn Beck is as rich as Michael Moore! Or at least he was, before he received sweet Castro Care, from Maoist nurses that he now refers to as — AND I QUOTE — “AMAZING.”

All right, here's the kicker. Do you know the name of the planet on which all of this occurred? Give up? IT WAS EARTH!!

Huffington appeared on MSNBC's Nov. 19 “Countdown” to discuss a report by the Anti-Defamation League that alleges Fox News host Glenn Beck is “the most important mainstream media figure who has repeatedly helped to stoke fires of anti-government anger” and therefore endangering society. “It would be nice to think of Glenn Beck just as a joke, as fodder for this show and the “Daily Show” and others that point out how stupid some of this stuff is,” “Countdown” host Keith Olbermann said. “But this report, you know, suggests something else, this is - fear-monger-in-chief term is frightening.” Huffington agreed with Olbermann's assertion, but she took it a step further and suggested Beck's alleged fear-mongering warrants an exemption from the First Amendment, otherwise known as the “shouting fire in a crowded theater” precedent. “It is frightening,” Huffington replied. “Well, I would say the fear-monger-in-chief title should still be reserved for Dick Cheney, even in retirement. But barring that, there is something that we need to really pay attention to with Glenn Beck. We cannot just dismiss him. Because the truth of the matter is that there is a good reason why we have an exemption to the free speech protection by the First Amendment when we say you cannot shout 'fire' in a crowded theater.” Huffington declared that likening Obama's policies to ideologies prominent in Europe during the 20th Century, or anything else with an “-ism” attached to it is “irresponsible.” “And he's doing that every night. He's basically using images of violence to bring together with all that he's accusing the Obama administration of, which varies from racism to communism, Nazism and everything else in between. So, all that has definitely an impact. I believe words matter, language matters and he's using it in incredibly irresponsible ways night after night.”

Some believe that the Green Party helped elect Bush to his first term while others believe that it was Gore's election to lose. The other prominent third party is the Libertarians. They truly believe in the least amount of government.

The Greens are progressive. Ecology is only one part of their platform. They also believe in racial diversity, a living wage, and laws and policies expressed in a humanitarian manner, locally, nationally, and globally.

Libertarians believe that citizens should have complete control over their actions as long as their actions do not interfere with the actions of others. In other words, you have your rights as long as they don't interfere with other people's rights.

Greens are what the Democrats think they are and Libertarians are what the Republicans aspire to be.

However, these are not the only third parties. Third Parties have been around since the founding of the United States.

The Constitution makes no mention of political parties. This was a smart move; it would be anti-Constitutional to show any preference to any political party.

The first two political parties were the Federalists and the Democrat-Republicans. The Federalists believed in a strong central government and the Democrat-Republicans believed in strong states' rights.

Issues, disagreements, and beliefs are the reasons for the major political parties and the third parties. Some past third parties include: Anti-Masonic Party, Free Soil Party, Union Party (merged with another third party - the Republicans), Whigs, the Know-Nothing Party (also known as the American Party), Dixiecrats (also known as the States' Rights Democrats), the Progressive Party, and the Bull Moose Party.

What did these third parties believe in? What were their causes and goals?

The first third party was the Anti-Masonic party (1831). They were also the first third party to hold a national convention.

They didn't like the secrecy of the Masons. They believed this group to be un-American.

William Wirt (Anti-Masonic) ran against Andrew Jackson in the 1832 election. He didn't win but he carried Vermont. This election featured 3 candidates: Andrew Jackson (Democrat), Henry Clay (National Republican), and William Wirt (Anti-Masonic).

Abraham Lincoln (originally a member of the Whig Party) won the presidency as a Republican; a third party that was against slavery in the territories but upheld slavery in the South. Lincoln was also a member of the Union Party whose goal was “the Constitution as it is and the Union as it is”. Members of the Whig Party and the Know-Nothing Party formed this party.

This election featured 4 candidates: Abraham Lincoln (Republican), Stephen Douglas (Democrat), John C. Breckinridge (Southern Democrat), and John Bell (Constitutional Unionist). Lincoln won and Douglas came in last behind the Southern Democrat and Constitutional Unionist candidates.

The Free Soil Party (1846-1854) as the name suggests, was anti-slavery. They opposed the expansion of slavery into the new states (the western territories), as they became part of the Union.

Martin Van Buren, our eighth president, a Democrat, served one term from 1836-1840. He ran as a Free Soil candidate in the 1848 presidential election and lost.

This election featured 3 candidates: Zachary Taylor (Whig), Martin Van Buren (Free Soil), and Lewis Cass (Democrat). Taylor won the election with Van Buren finishing second.

The Know-Nothing Party (also known as the American Party) was popular during the 1850s. They believed in setting limits to immigration and naturalized citizenship. They received their moniker by adhering to a simple rule - if people asked them about the party, they were told to say that they know nothing.

The party dissolved in 1856. The pro-slavery members joined the Democrats and the anti-slavery members joined the Republicans.

The Whig Party was formed in opposition to President Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson was very popular, had a strong personality, and was not afraid to use it.

His opponents interpreted his strong personality negatively and saw him as a king. They also believed in a strong national bank; Jackson didn't believe in a central bank. He favored state banks.

Andrew Jackson was a popular and strong candidate. His presidency was the beginning of the modern Democrat Party.

The Whig Party dissolved over the issue of slavery. The Northern Whigs (anti-slavery) joined the Republicans and the Know-Nothing Party and the Southern Whigs (pro-slavery) joined the Democrats.

The Republican Party incorporated a variety of different political parties. These parties included: the Free Soil Party, some of the Know-Nothing Party, and some of the Whigs (the Northern Whigs).

Theodore Roosevelt served 2 terms as president from 1901-1908. In 1912, he accepted the nomination of the Bull Moose Party. This party believed in progressive politics. The party consisted of a group of liberal Republicans who were against the conservative policies of the Republican president William Taft.

The 1912 election was a 4-person race. It included the Democrat, Woodrow Wilson, the Republican, William Taft, the Bull Moose, Theodore Roosevelt, and the Socialist, Eugene Debs.

Roosevelt lost, but received 25% of the vote. Woodrow Wilson won the election with Roosevelt finishing second.

Strom Thurmond ran as a Dixiecrat (also known as the States' Rights Democrats) in the 1948 presidential election. The Dixiecrats were an extremely conservative faction of the Democrat Party. They opposed the Democrats' civil rights program.

The 1948 election featured 4 candidates: Harry Truman (Democrat), Thomas Dewey (Republican), Strom Thurmond (Dixiecrat), and Henry Wallace (Progressive Party). Truman won the election but Strom Thurmond received over 1 million votes, carried 4 states, and won 39 electoral votes.

Third parties are essential ingredients for our political process. They draw attention to issues and causes that the major parties ignore. They invigorate and introduce people to the political process. They are a perfect example of free speech.

Many citizens join third parties because they believe both the Democrats and the Republicans don't represent them. If it weren't for third parties, they wouldn't be part of the political process.

Third parties also spotlight the question - Can a two party system represent the interests of all Americans? If 51% vote for one party and 49% for the other party, did the majority really win?

Most countries have a parliamentary form of government. Parliaments have many parties representing both diverse and minority points of view. While there will be no parliament in the United States, maybe there needs to be more parties to represent the diversity of the United States.

History is like fashion; it repeats itself. Political dissent is not new. Third parties are not new. As long as we have one, we will have the other.

Team Fortress 2 Multiplayer Hacks

While hacks and cheats have been around even when titles were restricted to single player modes, they’ve simply been taken to new heights with the advent of online multiplayer games. With real, flesh-and-blood opponents on the other side of the console, beating an in-game opponent just felt so much better at whatever the cost.

Stiff Competition

Online play can be an unforgiving platform. Set in the same map as battle-tested veterans, veritable newbies will often have little recourse but to take the endless beatings and kills. A hack, in such instances, can prove a lifesaver – allowing you to enjoy more of the game even with lesser skills than the rest of the participants.

The competitive nature of online play, coupled with reputation-building for individual players, teams and clans, have made hacks a frequently employed aspect of multiplayer shooters.

Game Code Modification

Modifying game code is a common way to implement cheats and hacks, either by reverse-engineering the software binaries or editing the game data. Many wallhacks and maphacks are implemented this way. Some hacks take another route and alter the game state while it runs in the memory.

Graphics Driver-Based Hacks

Some hacks work by hijacking the control to the graphics card API which renders objects and models in the game. Using data from it, the hack can determine locations, barriers and other pertinent information that can be used to target opponents for aimbots and identify hiding competitors. Additional driver modifications such as disabling depth checking can be used to create wallhacks.

Types Of Hacks

Numerous kinds of hacks and cheating mechanisms exist for first-person shooter multiplayer games, the most popular of which consist of:

Aimbots

These hacks are some of the most common found during online play, allowing a competitor undue assistance in acquiring targets. Most aimbots work by either offering an auto-aim facility, paving the way for accurate shots, or adding visual enhancements like crosshairs or a custom aimpoint for a better line of sight. Some aimbots are combined with triggerbots that automatically unload fire on opponents after securing aim.

Wallhacking

Wallhacks, for the most part, consist of adjustments to allow players to see through solid objects in the game – walls, vehicles and similar non-transparent textures. Some wallhacks allow players to spot objects and opponents well outside their normal line of sight, transcending physical objects, barriers and distances. A type of wallhack known as Whitewalls removes all types of colors and textures on walls, making it easy to spot opponents amidst busy scenes.

ESP

Some ESP skills like finding opponents across the map can be considered variants of wallhacking. Most ESP hacks though are designed to provide insights about your opponents that are otherwise unavailable. Such information can include damage levels, weapons, ammo and many more.

———————————————————————————————–

TF2 Wallhacks

Wallhacks are especially useful tools in first-person shooters, allowing you to see past the boundaries between you and other players. Most wallhacks work by rendering a map’s walls partially transparent so you can still recognize its presence but be able to see players and objects behind it.

Popularity of wallhacks first peaked with the multi-player Half Life mods, Counter Strike and Team Fortress Classic. Being simple modifications, they were easy to hack and became the early proving grounds to classic wallhacking techniques.

They can prove one of the most difficult hacks to detect in-game. If you’re playing in a LAN, of course, finding a player using wallhacks should be easy – just look at their screen. Online, however, while you may suspect a player of using wallhacks, it can be difficult to prove. This is compounded by the fact that veteran players who have gone through the same maps several times over know the most probable hiding places, allowing them to correctly guess which areas to unload an attack on.

Wallhacks are especially useful in Call Of Duty titles where players are able to shoot through walls, damaging any object or opponent behind it. In Call Of Duty 4, rifles are especially potent for taking out hostiles on the other side of the room.

In the Call Of Duty series, there are various types of wallhacks – some helping you see past more than immediate walls but through unusual distances. In World At War, for instance, we’re expecting these standard wallhacks (found in previous COD releases) to be present:

Chams

If you have a hard time distinguishing between your enemies and your team mates, this wallhack will allow you to recognize them in one glance. Your enemies will all turn fluorescent red while the friendlies will appear in fluorescent blue, respectively. This can prove especially handy when both sides wear similar colors – that moment of deciding whether a player is there to attack you can determine your fate.

Full 3D Map

This hack will render the map in 3D to easily give away enemy positions. No one can hide once this is employed – you’ll see them all!

Full ESP

This hack adds an icon to distinguish between enemies and friendlies throughout the map. The icon will appear even when the soldiers are behind a wall so you will know who’s hiding behind it and forge an attack when appropriate.

Minimap Hack

A simple minimap overlay that highlights which ones are your opponents and which ones belong to your team.

Minimap Kits

Find your enemies’ kits right on the minimap.

Increased View distance

This is a powerful hack that lets you see the game map in its entirety. Not only tha, you can use your rifle and snipe enemy combatants from afar. They’ll literally never know who hit them, how it happened and where they were shot from – fun!

————————————————————————————————

Undetectable TF2 Hacks

While many games now check for modifications to the source during play, plenty of hacks can still go through undetected. Well-designed and properly coded, good hacks successfully elude the prying eyes of anti-cheating measures built into multiplayer games and third-party software such as PunkBuster. Before logging on with a hack in tow, make sure it’s equipped to pass standard scrutiny to avoid being caught.

Cheaters

A large percentage of people use hacks in multiplayer games. Why wouldn’t they when hacks give you undue edge in play, apart from making the games more entertaining? Even when you don’t use them regularly, being ready with hacks to equip you can come real handy when facing opposition who could be running some good, undetectable hacks themselves.

Writing Hacks

Most hacks are done by updating either the game’s software or data binaries. However, advanced methods of running consistency checks on native files have rendered some file update techniques easily detectable.

Modifying the drivers for graphics cards is usually a more potent, undetectable way of implementing a hack. Since the drivers are client-based (with literally thousands of variations in graphics cards brands and models), there’s really little anyone can do to check. Hijacking control of graphics drivers, grabbing their data and modifying their outputs can be used to implement plenty of hacks, including aimbots, wallhacks and more.

Act Normal

One of the best tell-tale signs for hacks is indiscriminate play. Many online gamers new to employing hacks do so without regard for being caught – so they end up caught. If you can see through walls, for instance, in a game that allows shooting through barriers (like Call Of Duty 5), scoring a fatal head shot to your opponents every single time can easily get you flagged as a possible cheater. In contrast, if you use the information conservatively – such as coming up with a more believable attack that takes advantage of your enemy’s position – it looks more natural, like a regular gamer with no undue knowledge would do.

Screenshots

A lot of anti-cheating implementations revolve around taking screenshots of their opponents’ game. While that’s good and all, it really only successfully catches badly-made hacks. Well-done hacks, such as those we have on offer, fly in the face of pretty much every anti-cheat in the market. Immune to detection and designed to be screenshot-proof, these undetectable hacks give you real advantage without risk of losing your account.

COD 5 Hacks

Our COD 5 hacks are highly undetectable, much like the rest of our gamer-tested lineup of cheats for all the most popular online games. Enjoy your campaigns with powerful aimbots, amazing viewdistance and potent wallhacks!

Games we support:

Grand Theft Auto 4 – Coming Soon (gta4, gta 4, gta iv, grant theft auto iv)

The Heavy has an appropriate name considering he is one of the most powerful classes you'll find in TF2. He is vital to the success of your team and must be utilized to his fullest and order to be a success. He also has a great personality and just happens to be one of my favorite classes to play. I just want to give him a big 'ol hug!

Heavy is difficult for some people at first because he moves slower and will have a hard time running away from heavy enemy fire. The strategy you take when playing heavy will be different than with some of the other classes. With sometime to get used to it, you can be very powerful, however.

They carry the largest gun in the game and they have the highest health max. This is probably one reason many people choose them as the class to play. However, it's important to realize they also have the slowest speed out of all the classes. This combined with their size can make them a common target for the enemy. They're not very complicated but rest assured they are necessary in order to have a successful team.

The Heavy is played as both an offensive and defensive class. You will discover that he works very well with the Medic so they should be paired up whenever possible. They have the ability to take out several of the enemies at one time with little effort although; another Heavy can be a challenge.

One of the most popular elements of Google <b>News</b> is the different sections it offers, allowing you to browse <b>news</b> by topic. The problem was that you might not have been interested in what Google thought you should be. …

Many Democrats said passing the measure has become even more crucial politically after Republicans won governor's races in Virginia and <b>New</b> Jersey this week. So Democratic whips worked their rank and file, while House leaders tried to …

Scout Around for Realtors in Naples

Naples, Florida is a wonderful place to stay and to take a vacation. Likened to the Naples bay in Italy, this side of the west is bursting with beautiful landscapes that will surely enchant visitors everywhere. But if you suddenly have been overcome with the taste of Naples, you might want to live in this charming city permanently.

One can say that purchasing and selling real estate properties is a daunting task. At first, it might appear that by scanning local advertisements or sites on the Web you could just quickly get the right real estate property at an ideal price. That is not to be the case, however. The fundamental rule in buying real estate is that all properties vary. They differ in structure, in appreciation value, pricing options, inspection requirements, and condition.

With all these transactions dealt in buying a property in Naples, it does seem sensible to coordinate with Naples realtors who know the surroundings and the entire community. These realtors would know how to help you in realizing your home-owning dreams.

In Naples, like in most other communities, you are likely to discover various realty brokers because there is so much competition over property here. Local realtors work hard to survive let alone do well in the area. For a realtor, Naples calls for a comprehensive listing of experts and properties within the area and a constantly updating portfolio of available and upcoming property. Scouring various sources such as online sites, local advertising, open houses, and other referrals and recommendations from other realtors is only part of their work day.

Once you have chosen a realtor, you should do your best to foster a good relationship with them. After all they are your eyes and ears in the market. Realtors can either represent a buyer or a seller and they will explain the ins and outs and the choices available to negotiate your way to a happy ending. Also, they can supply you with information on anything related to property and property buying in the area. For those purchase who aren't local they are an excellent resource that should be exploited to the full. There may be state laws, building codes, or a myriad of other considerations that may be particular to the area, that only a local expert could tell you.

When realtors are employed, they will present you as much information pertaining to the recent real estate marketing conditions as they have. The surrounding area of Naples was allegedly positioned to have the highest increase of home sales among the United States until the economic slowdown spoilt everybody's plans.

Indeed, Naples is a buyer's market. With lots of house listings, reasonable property prices, growth in current home sales, and low mortgage rates. All of which contribute to a buying trend in Naples that should keep on growing with more and more home property buyers handing over their checkbooks.

A plate charger or dinnerware charger is the decorative plate that sits beneath the actual dinner plate. Years ago, we called these a “service plate” or “underplate” because their function was merely decorative. A charger or service plate is usually larger than a dinner plate, typically measuring between 11″ to 13″ in diameter.

Because a charger is not used for food, it can be made out of any kind of material. Plastics and metal are pretty common materials used for a charger, although leather, mother of pearl and even wood chargers are available.

To buy at the store, chargers can cost between $2 to $5 each. Target usually stocks some of the cheaper gold and silver chargers I've seen at an affordable $15-$20 per 12 count though at these prices, they tend to run out quickly.

But with a package of plastic plates and some metallic spray paint, you can make your own chargers for less money. While they won't look exactly like the ones in the store, they really quite nice and can save quite a bit of money, especially if setting up a banquet for a crowd.

Materials needed to make your own decorative charger

There's two essential items needed to complete this project; sturdy plastic or acrylic plates and cans of metallic gold or silver spray paint. For the charger, a round plate size of 12-13″ is preferable. When plates reach this size, they are often referred to as either round platters, chop platters, or hors d'oeurve platters. You should be able to find them in your town at restaurant supply stores or party store. If not, on-line etailer Instawares.com also carries large, clear platters. The 12″ rounds currently in stock is made by Waddington, and the platters are priced in quantities of 25 for $31.80

Instructions

There's two ways of spraying these plates and either method will work. For a glossy shine, the underside of the plate should be sprayed. For more of a matte finish, the top of the plate can be sprayed. It's totally up to you.

Step 1: Place the plate on a sheet of newspaper in a well ventilated area.
Step 2: Gently spray the plate following manufacturers directions. Keep in mind that it's always best to apply the paint in three (or more) light mistings instead of trying to cover everything at once.
Step 3: Let the paint dry thoroughly before using, usually a couple of days.

Be it a mistake on the part of casting or the producers trying to give the male audience false hope, sometimes TV babes end up with TV schmoes. A recent example of this is HBO's new series, “Bored To Death.” Jason Schwartzman’s character, Jonathan Ames, is an unsuccessful writer who smokes too much pot, drinks too much white wine, and acts like a kid. His best friend is a schlumpy, unemployed, comic-book artist. Yet, Ames has been dating the beautiful Suzanne, played by Olivia Thirlby, who has her shit together and seems like an up-and-coming Upper-East-Sider. Would they really be together in real life? Maybe, but I doubt it. Below is a list that combines cutting-edge science and mathematics to rate various aspects of a TV character based on job, personality, physical attractiveness, etc. Once the characters have a score, we then compare the separation between the two in terms of “notches.”

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) is a beautiful woman and the daughter of a wealthy man. She was popular in high school, and now is a working professional in the high-end fashion world. We’ve seen her on dates with attractive, mature men, yet it’s Ross Geller who ultimately steals her heart. Ross (David Schwimmer) is a whiny, nerdy guy who still loves dinosaurs well into his thirties. While being a paleontologist and professor is honorable and vaguely cool, I doubt Rachel would choose him over a Calvin Klein underwear model (or even Calvin Klein himself).

Carrie Heffernan (Leah Remini) is a grade A M.I.L.F. Add to that her sassy attitude and hints of a tom-boy past, and you’ve got an all around babe. She is nurturing and loving one minute, and cursing like a sailor the next. She may not have any class, but that only adds to her appeal. There is only one problem with her: if she moves in, so does her elderly, grouchy father. She’s not perfect, but even with the unwanted father-baggage, she can pull far better than the husband she has: Doug Heffernan (Kevin James). Doug is an oafish, lazy, UPS deliver-man. He’s flaky with his responsibilities, has no motivation to climb do well at his job, and spends most of the day on the couch. Yes, he’s funny, but he lives in a sit-com (which is like saying a fish is wet). Unless he is literally the king of Queens, I don’t know what Carrie sees in him.

Susan Biddle Ross (Heidi Swedberg) was a network executive at NBC back in the day when the Networks ruled TV. She’s a very warm, loving person, has a bright future, and a solid head on her shoulders. She is also beautiful, but not unattainably so. George Costanza (Jason Alexander), on the other hand, is a wreck. A self-proclaimed short, balding, unattractive man, he can never seem to hold down a job. He was living with his parents into his thirties, and still acts like an immature child. His only redeeming factor might be that his best friend is Jerry Seinfeld, and the two are making a pilot for NBC. The fact that Susan keeps coming back to George and wants to marry him might be the ultimate running joke of the series.

Although it took him years to do it, and you may not remember that it happened, Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) finally did hook up with Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis). Now, let’s get this straight: Burkhart is reaching into the stratosphere of TV character babes. She’s popular, wealthy, and smoking hot. She dated Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), and even Steven Hyde (Danny Masterson). She can have her pick of any guy on the football team, but hooks-up with Fez? Fez loves candy and masturbating. The horn-dog that he is, most of his brainpower is taken up by thoughts or actions related to sex. His speech is hindered, as he is an immigrant and is still mastering English. He is definitely a loser, and his friends total little more than his host family and those who take pity on him. Yet, Fez, more than anyone on this list, gives hope to men everywhere: persistence pays. Also, being a foreigner has its charm.

Cheryl David (Cheryl Hines) is a real catch. She is cute and classy, always maintains her wits, has not let wealth go to her head, and tolerates all of Larry’s shit. She's a former actress, but does not leech off of Larry’s fame. She is several years younger than her husband (and Larry is no suave older gentleman). And, finally, she seems a real fox in the sack. Her husband, Larry David (Larry David), is a typical Brooklyn-ite: neurotic as hell, whiny, blunt, and, at times, inconsiderate. While he has made himself and Cheryl rich many times over, and was the creator of one of the most influential sit-coms in history, their marriage seemed to hold despite that. Whatever it was that did hold them together, kudos to Larry for scoring such a babe, even if it ended in divorce.

This odd couple seems to have evolved into the position they are in. Debra Barone (Patricia Heaton) can be a real hard-ass, but loves her family very much, and works hard to maintain balance. When treated right, a warm center suddenly shines through, and we see what Ray must see. Ray Barone (Ray Romano), on the other hand, is a lazy, flaky little child. He works as a sports reporter for the paper, a job that requires little effort for most men, and most of his time is spent arguing with his mother, father, brother, wife, and kids. Either that, or getting into trouble with them. But, it does seem that at some point in the past (ostensibly, when they first met), Ray did charm Debra enough to marry him, and there was a time in their marriage when they had fun. Whatever the case, now they seem unhappy and ill-matched.

We have all thought about it: who was Gilligan sleeping with? Mary Ann or Ginger? No matter how unappealing he was, six adults stranded together on a deserted island for four years will sleep together. Odds are Gilligan boinked them both. And if that’s the case, Godspeed, little buddy. But honestly, the dim-witted, goofy, and rather unattractive Gilligan (Bob Denver) with the sexy, elegant, aloof Ginger (Tina Louise), or even the All-American sweet-heart Mary Ann (Dawn Wells) is something that would have NEVER happened unless, they were stranded on an island. Truth be told, the one bagging all of the ass was probably the Professor.

This is a classic example of marital out-of-leagued-ness: Marge Simpson (Julie Kavner) is hot; very hot. Hell, she just posed in Playboy, and turns the head of every man in Springfield. Furthermore, she is intelligent and an excellent, caring mother. She has infallible morals, and always comes through when needed. Her husband, Homer Simpson (Dan Castellaneta), is not so hot. Festively plump, to say the least, and stuck in a dead-end job for years, Homer divides his time between Moe’s Tavern, the couch, and the nuclear power plant where he works. Homer is dopey, unintelligent, selfish, and has no problem screwing others over (especially if your name is Ned Flanders). While his personality may not have changed much, Homer did look considerably better when younger, and probably caught Marge’s eye as a result.

Ranking right up there with Marge and Homer is the ballad of Lois and Peter Griffin. Lois Griffin (Alex Borstein), is the babe with the wealthy father. Popular in high school, and now gawked over by every guy in town, Lois is certainly a catch. Furthermore, she is active in the community (running for Mayor, once), and definitely present in her children’s lives. She is nurturing, loving, and supportive of her family. The real kicker, though, is her sex drive. As we have seen several times on the show, she is into some pretty kinky things: SM/BD, and doing it in public places to name a few. Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) is your typical blue-collar slob. He is grossly over-weight, and works as a paper-pusher in a beer factory. If that was not enough, he wastes most of his paycheck at the bar with his buds. Peter is selfish, so much so, that at times he is harmful to others. He is unintelligent, unmotivated, and all around unattractive. However, with the aid of his dog Brian (Peter’s version of a Jiminy Cricket), he is not all bad.

While Fred and Wilma Flintstone are a story of their own, the question I want to ask is about Betty and Barney Rubble. Betty Rubble (Bea Benaderet) is the sexiest woman in Bedrock. She may be a typical housewife, but she is sweet, cute, and takes care of her family. Barney Rubble, however, is a regular beta-male with a job at a rock quarry. He follows his best friend Fred Flintstone around like a puppy, and is content with his life as is. Any motivation seems void in his life, and Barney is an all-around happy guy. While this is not a bad thing, I would have to guess that Betty is content with a middle-of-the-road life as well.
